The news section on the EIT Food website showcases what is happening in our community, both directly related to EIT Food, as well as through our partners and wider community.
What is the difference between a news article and a press release?
Announcements that are particularly newsworthy and are considered of interest to external media are published in the news section as press releases. So all press releases are also news articles - but press releases have additional tags and visibility on the website, and require additional approval by EIT in advance of publishing.
If you wish to publish a news article or a press release to the news section of the EIT Food website, this must be reviewed by the core EIT Food communications team. Please refer to the relevant section below, then contact the team at communication@eitfood.eu.
- I am in a regional team, where should I start?
- I am in a functional area team, where should I start?
- I am a partner, where should I start?
I am in a regional team, where should I start?
If you are in one of the three regional teams, you can upload news articles to your region's microsite, where they will appear tagged as 'Regional News'.
The latest news articles will appear on the microsite's landing page – you can see an example on the EIT Food South Region page, when you scroll down to 'Latest EIT Food news'.
If you need to request access to publish content to the regional microsite, please email communication@eitfood.eu and someone from the core communications team will get back to you.
If you would like to publish a news article to the main EIT Food news section of the website, please ensure that the announcement has a significance beyond your region and is of interest to a global or pan-European audience. The text must be in English.
You should then contact the team at communication@eitfood.eu sharing the following:
- The full draft of the news article - we recommend aiming for 800 - 1,000 words. We suggest including at least one quote within the article from a relevant spokesperson.
- At least one relevant image to include in the article, in a PNG format. You must have permission for us to publish the image.
- Whether you would like us to publish the news article as a press release. Please only confirm this if you believe the news story is interesting and relevant to external media. If you would like your article to be published as a press release, you must read and follow these guidelines on how to submit a press release.
